PRIMER FOR METAL SHEETS AND NON POROUS SUBSTRATES

AMBIPRIME is a water based acrylic polyurethane hybrid polymers based primer to enhance the bonding between Ambicool heat reflective coating and non-porous surfaces like Metal sheets, Bitumen membranes etc. Its main function is to form a protective bonding layer which prevents peeling off of Ambicool from substrate throughout life of heat reflective coating system. This increases the service life of Heat reflective coating application as well as building structure life made of metal sheets. It also prevents staining of AMBICOOL from below grade rust which gets formed on GI metal sheets over a period of time.

SUBSTRATE PREPARATION

All surfaces must be clean and free from dirt, grease, oil, mold, algae, loose granules, loose paint, rust, excess chalk, and other foreign matter which could prevent proper adhesion. Use a high pressure washer and stiff bristle brush or broom scrub surface. A general purpose soap based cleaning agent can be used to remove all grease or oily deposits. Use metal rust cleaners for heavily rusted metal sheets. If needed, use mechanical abrasion devices to properly clean the rust. Rinse thoroughly and allow to dry.

APPLICATION

Do not dilute the product. Dilution will decrease the performance and will void warranty conditions. Stir well the Primer and apply it with soft nylon brush or roller. Make sure the surface temperature is less than 350C. It is best to apply it early in the morning when surface temperature is low. One coat application is sufficient over non porous substrates. The primer dries in an hour after which Ambicool can be applied. The applied primer should be coated over the same day for the best inter-coat adhesion.
