ACEBOND SBR

SBR POLYMER LATEX FOR CIVIL REPAIRS AND WATERPROOFING

ACEBOND SBR is a high performance modified Styrene-butadiene rubber based latex which when added to cement slurry, cement mortar or concrete, provides good adhesion and water resistance. It is used for bonding new concrete/plaster to old concrete/plaster. Also in repair of spalled concrete in floors, beams, slabs. It can also be used for waterproofing of toilets and bathrooms, small terraces. It comes in the form of a milky liquid, soluble in water and is to be added directly to the gauging water.

• For waterproofing of roof slabs, sunken slabs, basements, water tanks etc.
• Admixture for cementitious injection grouting into concrete cracks
• Treatment for leaching and efflorescence on wall
• Used as adhesion enhancer in tile adhesives

SUBSTRATE PREPARATION

Fresh masonry or concrete substrate must be allowed to cure for at least 14 days. Clean the area from all loose particles, oil, grease and any such deleterious materials. All surface cracks should be filled up with a paste of Cement and ACEGUARD BA mixed in ratio of 2:1 and applied using a trowel to seal the gaps.

APPLICATION

Bonding coat: Prepare the bonding coat by mixing ACEGUARD SBR: Water: Cement in ratio of 1: 2: 4. Apply the single coat of bonding coat to obtain a thin layer. When the bond coat is still fresh and sticky, apply the mortar or concrete. During application the mixture of ACEGUARD SBR and cement needs to be continuously stirred to prevent the cement particles from settling. Prepared material must be used within 20–30 minutes

Waterproof repair mortar: Prepare the waterproof mortar by mixing ACEGUARD SBR: Water: Cement: Sand in ratio of 1: 2: 4: 12 Apply the mortar onto the surface in a layer of 20–30 mm thickness. For higher thickness, apply in multiple layers at intervals of 12 hours.

Injection grouting: Open the crack lines into V groove and fix galvanized iron nozzles spaced at regular intervals. Prepare a cement grout by mixing ACEGUARD SBR: Water in ratio of 1: 6. The polymer can be used 3–5 % by weight of cement as per required properties. Inject the fluid as per normal practice.
